LIGHTS OF LOBETHAL 2009 HIGHLIGHTS

Carols in the Valley

Sunday December 13th Open 7.00pm - 8.30pm

Carols in the Valley heralds the beginning of Christmas in Lobethal.

 

The "Lights On!" Ceremony

Sunday December 13th Starts 8.30pm
The Lutheran Church Amphitheatre
Main Street, Lobethal

This Year’s Lights of Lobethal Festival will be opened by Leigh McClusky: Media identity between 8.30-9.00pm.

Immediately following the Opening Ceremony, at 9 pm, a Fireworks Display will be presented for your entertainment. [more info]

 

The Lights of Lobethal

Deck the Hall

Sunday December 13th - 23rd
from dusk until 10:45 pm nightly
Lobethal Centennial Hall, Main Street Lobethal

A new feature of the festival, created by projection artist Cindi Drennan. Transforming the Lobethal Centennial Hall with animations and light painting, created during her residency in the Lobethal community. A new project by Lights of Lobethal SA Inc in partnership with Arts SA. [more info] [about the artist]

 

The Solar Grove

Sunday December 13th - 23rd
from dusk until 10:45 pm nightly
Sitse on Main Street Lobethal
and at Adelaide Hills Market

A new feature of the festival, using green power, and new Lobethal Lanterns made in community workshops. Look out for the Lobethal Lanterns at 52 & 56 Main Street Lobethal, and at Tillbrooks Estate at the Adelaide Hills Market. They look great both day and night.

Living Nativity

December 13th - 23rd

Each show is a gift from the people of Lobethal and your gold coin donation will help support these wonderful performances. [more info]

 

Lantern & Solar Grove Workshops

December 5th & 6th, and 10th

Lobethal Centennial Hall, Main Street Lobethal

A grove of Solar powered LED lights created by community members in workshops with resident artist Cindi Drennan, and discussions about future technologies and innovations. A new project by Lights of Lobethal SA Inc in partnership with Arts SA. [more info]

 

Pageant Night

Wednesday December 23rd Starts 7.30pm

Main Street closed from 6pm - 9pm
Pageant Night in Lobethal is very exciting, it means that Santa Claus is only two more sleeps away. [more info]

There is NO parking avaliable in the main street so arrive early as parking is limited!

 

Lobethal Christmas Tree Festival

December 13th - 23rd Open 6.00pm - 11.00pm
Senior Citizens Hall, Main Street, Lobethal

Admission: Adults $2 Children Free
View a large display of Christmas trees decorated by school children, local clubs, social and church groups and individuals. [more info]

 

Centennial Hall Market

December 13th - 30th (exc. Dec 25th) Open 6.00pm - 11.00pm
Centennial Hall, Main Street, Lobethal

They serve tea, coffee, light refreshments, strawberries and ice cream, and have a sausage sizzle out the front. Which is all provided by the volunteers of the community. There are many varied market stalls within the hall with great gifts for Christmas.

Open nightly 13th to the 23rd of December. 7.00pm - 11.00pm.
