A bushfire recovery project by Fabrik, Adelaide Hills Council and Illuminart.
“Flocking Together” is a large-scale digital light production that visitors to Lobethal will be able to come together to experience at the Historic Woolen Mill precinct in conjunction with this year’s festival.
Flocking together conjures images of birds in flight or congregating in a tree but also represents the Flocking technique for layering texture into the sheer fabric. A fabric that subsequently is perfect for projection and lighting.
In recent years the Lobethal and surrounding community have been called upon to flock together in strength and resilience in rebuilding after the devastation of the bushfires, Flocking Together will feature children’s artwork from local school groups.
Flocking Together will connect the community through creativity and will appropriately represent the enjoyment and lightness of being part of a big happy flock, particularly meaningful at Christmas.

Cancelled due to Covid concerns
It is with a heavy heart that the Lights of Lobethal have announced they are cancelling the local Lobethal Christmas Pageant on Thursday 23rd December 2021 due to high levels of uncertainty and concern in the community surrounding the current Covid situation.
The Lights of Lobethal Committee would like to wish you a sparkling and safe Christmas and Happy New Year and we hope to see you in 2022 at the LIGHTS!
Historically, Lobethal’s Main Street has come alive with the spirit of Christmas on the 23rd of December as the community (and Santa! shhhhh) come together to celebrate the Annual Christmas Pageant Parade.
We are working hard behind the scenes and are thrilled to announce this years event will be a Free ticketed event held at the Lobethal Recreation Grounds. This is to ensure this years format adheres to public gathering requirements and Covid guidelines.
