As the Lights of Lobethal season comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible festival that brought joy, light, and connection to our community and visitors alike. This year was a testament to the strength of our community, the creativity of our participants, and the power of coming together to create something truly special.
A Celebration of Events
From the moment the lights turned on, Lobethal transformed into a festive wonderland. Here are just a few highlights from this year’s magical season:
- Stunning Light Displays: Our residents and businesses outdid themselves, creating dazzling displays that brought smiles to countless faces. Each light told a story of creativity, effort, and community pride.
- A Triumphant Christmas: The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s brass and percussion sections, joined by Stephen Van Der Hoek on organ, delivered breathtaking performances that will be cherished for years to come.
- Markets and Festivities: From the Centennial Hall markets to the return of Fabrik’s Handmade Christmas Market, visitors were treated to incredible crafts, delicious food, and the unique charm of our town.
- Carols in the Valley & Living Nativity: These beloved community-run events reminded us of the true spirit of Christmas, bringing music, meaning, and connection to all who attended.
Acknowledging Our Sponsors and Volunteers
This festival would not be possible without the support of our incredible sponsors, volunteers, and contributors. A heartfelt thank you to:
- Our Sponsors: MJS Tree & Stump, Rotary Club of Mount Barker, Lions Club of Onkaparinga, Weinert’s Fuel Distribution, GE Hughes Construction, Kleemann Funerals, Udder Delights, and all those who gave so generously to make this event a success.
- Our Volunteers: The heart and soul of the Lights of Lobethal—thank you for your dedication, hard work, and festive spirit. Whether you were managing parking, assisting with events, or ensuring visitors felt welcome, your contributions made all the difference.
Community Spirit
At its core, the Lights of Lobethal is about more than just lights—it’s about community. Every home lit up, every float in the pageant, every market stall, and every smiling visitor came together to create something far greater than the sum of its parts.
This event simply couldn’t happen without the incredible efforts of our residents, businesses, and supporters. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, adds to the magic of this festival, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we reflect on the success of this season, we’re already looking forward to the year ahead. Together, we’ll continue to grow and evolve, bringing new ideas and traditions to the Lights of Lobethal while holding onto the heart of what makes it so special—community.
Thank you for being part of this unforgettable season. From the Lights of Lobethal team to you, we wish you a joyful New Year filled with light, love, and happiness.
